We will share some practices of exploring the body as an expressive vehicle. In the protected context of the theater, the body regains its centrality, surpassing moralisms and conventions to rediscover instincts and sincerity.
This process starts with preliminary exercises to develop listening awareness and space management, followed by sharing exercises used by our company. Priority is clearly given to attention to space, followed by listening and perception of others, and only then to self-attention.
Starting from daily actions such as walking, running, jumping, or habitual gestures, we allow ourselves to rediscover the body. Movement, devoid of aesthetic embellishments, becomes a tool for action, with its sole purpose being the action itself.
In our approach, the floor becomes an essential partner, and the entire body is prepared to be ready and available for movement effectiveness. Every part of the body can be used to move.
The "center" of movement resides in the pelvis, the theatrical seat of will and desire, while the "peripheries" such as hands and feet become instruments for moving efficiently and swiftly.
In relationships with others, bodies become aware of their own characteristics and peculiarities, and each assumes defined roles in a well-structured game, where everyone has their own task.
The sharing is open to all, no prior experience is needed, and each participant will have the opportunity to work at their own level.
